Embalming Services

Embalming is the art and science of cleansing, disinfecting and preserving human remains to make them suitable for viewing. Following death, it is normal for the remains of the deceased to begin to decompose. The rate of decomposition is determined by many factors, which vary from one deceased to another. Embalming, or hygienic treatment of the deceased involves the injection of sterilising fluids through the circulatory system. It is an effective way of slowing down the decomposition process, allowing for both sanitation and preservation of the body for viewing.

Value of viewing of the deceased:

    1. Viewing of the deceased provides the family and friends with the reality that death has in fact occurred "seeing is believing".

    2. Viewing of the deceased minimises or eliminates future thoughts, mind sets or questions as to whether he or she is really dead. Without viewing it can be difficult for the family and friends to persuade their own mind that their loved one or close friend is really dead. This mind set of denial can cause a person to continually expect his/her loved one to someday "just walk through the door".

    3. Viewing of the deceased is a very special time that allows the family and friends to gather and begin the transition into their new life. That new life is one without the presence of the deceased.

    4. Viewing provides a time for family and friends to say Goodbye to the deceased in their own personal way.

    5. Regardless of the method chosen for final disposition of the deceased, viewing of the deceased can be of great help to family and friends in dealing with the grieving process and should be considered before final disposition.

We issue certification for the repatriation of remains to any part of the world.
